Wow, I pretty much have an entire site going in my little area. I think this is getting pretty cool... but that is just my opinion. Anyway, I guess I should actually tell you what this page is about... Here it goes!
As of August nineteenth, I will be an official homeschool student. So, if there are anyother 8th graders who are homeschooled, and you or your parents or teacher(s) need a little help, I will put what I study in each subject. And when I figure them out... the answers. (you guys could also help out and answer a question or two... joking. for the most part...)

Monteke'
O.k, I made this myself a few years ago. I was bored, and at a bonefire on a foggy night. You see what happened...

Fog curled around the tops of trees as the local villagers huddled by the fire. They were looking for warmth and for protection. The great Scavenger Monteke' was loose. You could hear the beasts howls as it wove through the trees, looking for any prey foolish enough to be trapped in his forest.
All of the villager's eyes were focused on one person. The only villager to have gone to the great beast's layer... and lived. The younger children huddled close to their parents as the man spoke his tale:
On a night much like this one, on the day of my seventeenth birthday, I heard Monteke's cry sound through the forest. His howl was one of joy, if the beast can have such an emotion... After the animals call, I heard the women of this village, some that are here this night, cry out in a fit of grief. I, along with the rest of the men, ran to see what had unsettled the ladies so. As I stared at the body they cried over, I can still remember the thoughts that swam in my head. My main thought was... NO! Not my sister! How could anyone do this?
I looked to the eldest man there as he laid his hand on my shoulder. As if he could read my mind, he told me it was not a human that killed my sister, but the very beast that stalks our hunting grounds at this moment. The Monteke' killed my sister. What was worse, all but half of her torso and face was nothing but bones and bloody tissue. All that remained after the beast had it's full.
In a fit of rage, I took of for the woods, knowing full well that I would only come back if I was lucky.In the same instant, I knew I would die with the great beast dead beside me, or i would live another day to try to kill it.

I dashed through the forest, the thorns tearing at my clothes, and the screams of the tribe behind me. I thought none understood the haatred I felt, that no one else would see that I had to have my revenge. The only scream that wounded my heart was the one of my mother screaming. "I have now lost both children!" She shouted. "Why do you not stop him? You could have caught him!" She demanded of the cheif, Latukna. All the chief did was shake his head as he grabbed my mother, pressing her into a bear hug meant to comfort, but had no such affect.
After I had seen this, trees blocked my veiw, and I could see and hear my tribe no more.

Okay, this is a weird story... If you like it, read chapter two. o_0

Rikuu felt like he was being pushed upward. Struggling to look down and to open his eyes against the wind, he found he was on a blue platform that was steadily rising to an unknown destination.

From behind him, he heard a voice. "Welcome. We have been expecting you."

In front of Rikuu, a red headed figure was slowly appearing. When she was fully there, she smiled. “Are you ready to begin your journey?"

"Your bizarre." Rikuu was staring at the woman, and wondering what would make a dream like this, and why he couldn't wake from it.

"Very well, begin your journey uninformed." With that, the woman disappeared again, and Rikuu's platform resumed its previous course.

Out of the corner of his eye, Rikuu saw a glimmer of pink. He turned to look, and saw a platform like his own. They were level, as if tethered together.

On that platform, was a girl about his age. Right before he got a good look at her face, the platforms tilted, sending both of their passengers tumbling toward the earth. They were skydiving- without the parachute.

"Oww... my head." Rikuu felt as if his head had been hit with a wooden board. He pulled himself off of the cold stone floor, and tried to find out where he was. All he could see in either direction was a long hallway. "Hello?"

Only echoes greeted his call.

Rikuu then heard a girl in pain. She was crying and he heard her ask "Where am I? Is any one there?"

The pain gone in his head, Rikuu now focosed on finding and helping the mystery girl.

Several wrong turns and halways later, he found her, sprawled out on the ground.

Rikuu lifted the girl and attempted to find any one in the castle, room , or wherever he was, to help the girl.

As he picked her up, her dark purple hair brightened several shades. Her green eyes flickered open.

"Wh-where am I?"

"I don't know, but i will. Trust me... you'll be okay." He tried to say this with more confidence than he felt, and he must have because the girls grip on his shirt relaxed, and she allowed herself to be carried away.

Wondering through the castle, every door was locked. He was thinking he would have to leave the girl behind and run ahead to find help when he found an open door. Walking into it, he found it was a type of office.

As soon as they entered, a woman in a purple and gold robe that flowed as she walked went up to them.

"I am headmistress Noma. I can see that you have not had much fun..." She said the last while looking at the girl in Rikuu's arms. "I will take her for you..." Rikuu stepped back, keeping the girl out of Noma's reach. "No matter. I will lead you to the hospital wing. Stick close, it is easy to get lost in a vast castle such as this." Noma lead them out of the office, down winding stairs, and through endlees hallways.When they finally reached the hospital wing, Rikuu could hear Noma thinking out loud. "Why did you pull back? Dont your arms get tired?Do you even know? Interesting....No one can hurt her here. Here we are. lie here in this bed." Noma seemed to be talking to herself untill she motioned to a bed. He layed her on it and both of their hair dimmed. Ms. Noma must have noticed, because Rikuu heard her say to herself "Interesting..." Turning to Rikku, she said " We must find you a room."

"No you don't have to.I'll stay here." Rikuu pulled a chair over by him and sat down, still facing Noma. He looked into her eyes, a cool, blank stare that told her he would not bend to any ones will.

He was sure to be tough to beat.

OKay, here is chpter two... 0_0

Rikuu awoke to the sound of millions of doors unlocking. When he opened his eyes, he found he was resting his head on the girls bed, and her hand was on top of his.

Carefully getting up so as not to disturb her, Rikuu began to look around.

"Awake at last, dear? When your friend wakes up I will heal her, and I guess it will be in about 10 minutes." With that the woman walked off, her green robe floating as she stood at the counter mixing some type of mixture.

As Rikuu was about to sit down, his overnight companion had begun to awaken. "My back... wh-where am I?" Her green eyes expanded, showing more alarm accross her features.

"In a type of hospital for a castle... I will know more today um... what is your name?"

"Kara. Kara Falmeo. And you are?"

"Oh! I am Rikuu Casgrassi. Go ahead, laugh at my last name all you want."

"What happened? I can't remember anything."

"You fell on some stairs and hit your head. Before that, we hadn't met. Officially, we just did. And the nurse says she will heal you and then we will be able to go, finally. I dont think she'll heal you, I just think she has a fluffed up ego when it comes to medicine..."

"We can finally go? You stayed here the entire time? How long was the entire time?"

"Just overnight... Is staying here bad? If you were awake, would you want me to go?"

"No. It was nice. Thanks."

"Are you two going to keep chatting or let me heal you, Kara?" The 'nurse' had appeared again, and was rolling up her sleeve.

"She waved her hands over Kara's middle, and the pain seemed to evaporate off her face as the wisps of green mist did.

"There my dear.You are free to go!" The nurse shook her hands, and the green shimmer dropped off. "Now we see about getting you room assignme-"

"That wont be neccasary.This is not our home."

"Oh it is now. Find any student and they will explain."

Rikuu helped Kara off the bed, and they left. Rikuu half carrying Kara.

"I'm fine. That lady really did heal me. You can put me down now." Kara said, attampting to persuade Rikuu into letting her carry her own weight.

"I don't trust her.How are we sure any of this is real? This could all be a dream!"

"I'm real. You can feel the fabric of my shirt, you can smell the shampoo in my hair. I am not an illusion, so the rest of this can't be."

"Then were are the supposed students?"

"Over there. They are coming to us."

Two girls approached Rikkue and Kara. The tallest spoke first, to Rikuu.

"Hi! I am Maria and I will be your guide to DMA!"

"DM what?" Rikuu asked Maria.

"The school you are standing in. Devin's Mage Academy. Memorize it." This time, the girl with Maria spoke. " I am Venus. I am your guide... girl. Any questions, ask me. Do you have dorms?"

"No." Kara answered for both of them.

"know how you got here?"

"No again."

"Do you remember your boyfriends name?"

For a second, Rikuu and Kara looked puzzled. Then, Rikuu noticed his arm was still around Kara, supporting her. He pulled his arm away, and his face reddened slightly.

"I'm not her boyfr-"

"Then why did you pull away?"

"She said she didn't need help. She hurt her back"

"And you blush when you help?"

"I'm not blu-" Rikuu knew it was no use. The more he tried to defend himself, the more he did blush. Even though he hated calling it that.

"Stop interagatting him! What are your names... final question."

"I'm rikuu and she is Kara."

"Come. You need dorms." Venus began walking the direction they had come.

"We just came from that way!" Rikuu said, not wanting to go back to tha nurse or Noma.

"To bad. That is were the haedmistress resides."

"That crazy purple ang gold lady? No way!"

"She will want to know if you have your spacial abilities yet.Is there anything you two are WAY above average at?"

"Swordfighting" Both Rikuu and Kara said.

"Useless in my opinion."

"Oh? And what is yours, sarcasm?"

"Advanced knowledge actually."

"Here we are!" Maria declared. The group walked in and rikuu saw it was the exact same as it was the previou night. Nearly pitch black except for a glowing picture of theheadmistress. Rikuu went closer to the picture and it binked. Then Noma stepped out of the picture! Rikuu was in battle stance, and Venus looked amused. Maria then went to Rikuu's aid.

"It's her power. See?" She took Rikuu's larger hand in her own and lifted it, pressing it against the screen. Rikuu's hand went into the screen a bit, but Maria did not seem to notice."You would have had to have been here a week, and that would have to be your power for your hand to go in. As Ms. Noma can tap the screen and she is transported in!"

"Huh, pretty weird. Kara, come check this out." Before Rikuu turned to see Kara, Maria scrambled away, towards the door, where Venus was holding Kara. Maria grabbed an arm, and they ran out, dragging Kara with them. "KARA! Come back with her! Agghhh!" Rikuu was running towards the door when Noma blocked his way.

"Now, boy, we will fight and see who keeps your little girlfreind!" Noma lunged at Rikuu, but he rolled out of the way and grabbed a sword that was hanging on a dark section of her wall. Rikuu held it in a fighting stance. Noma smirked, and raised her own sword.

Okay, we are going to start with some of the games I have. You may not like them, and if you don't you can comment or thread below, and I will be sure to put it on. I will try to put the story, and one or two reviews on each.

Story
The story of FINAL FANTASY XII takes place in a world called Ivalice, in an age when magic was commonplace and airships plied the skies, crowding out the heavens. War was on the horizon. Seeking to strengthen its base of power, the great Archadian Empire had been invading and subjugating its neighboring kingdoms one by one. The small Kingdom of Dalmasca was one such kingdom. Our story follows Vaan, a young man living on the streets of Dalmasca's Royal City of Rabanastre, the Princess Ashe, the sole remaining heir to the Dalmascan throne who had been given up for missing, as well as Vaan's friend Penelo, the sky pirate Balthier, Balthier's partner Fran and many more on an adventure through Ivalice that traces the mysteries behind the Archadian Empire's invasion.

Review One

"A review from someone who has played every Final Fantasy"

Let's start with a basic critique of the game.
Graphics: top notch. Throughout its history, Squaresoft (SquareEnix, Squeenix, whatever) has consistently delivered what seem to be the most cutting edge graphics whatever system they're programming for can produce. This game is no exception. Environments are beautiful, animation is smooth, and the cut scenes are works of art. Everything in the game is drawn with enough detail that it makes you wonder how a next-gen system could possibly improve upon the visuals.
Sound: top notch as well. As usual with the Final Fantasy franchise, the soundtrack from this game sounds like something one would hear in a symphony hall. The voice acting can't really be complained about, though some of the accents can begin to grate on one's nerves after hearing it for a few hours.
Playability: depends on what you like. If you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, you'll love the battle system. If you're in love with the traditional Final Fantasy games, not so much. The next section will go deeper into this, but basically in the battles you control the leader while the other characters run on auto pilot unless you do something to override their default actions, which can be set using the new Gambit system. So basically it's you and your computer controlled teammates fighting in real time, a la Kingdom Hearts. It's also interesting to note that instead of getting gil from the battles directly, you gain it from selling loot that drops of the enemies after you fight them. Most of these items are completely useless beyond being sold for money, so it seems that Square decided to borrow from World of Warcraft..
The leveling system is definitely of a ‘love it or hate it' variety. While your characters gain levels according to experience points, you also gain an entirely different set of points with each battle which you must spend on a grid system to gain new abilities for using weapons, armor, magic, etc. You can also spend them on stat bonuses. Personally I don't care for this. It makes purchasing new equipment and magics a longer endeavor than it should be, as you have to make sure your characters can equip the new items that you purchase. Also, the grid with which you purchase these abilities is mostly hidden so you have to spend a lot of your talent points just to uncover the talents which you wish to use. I wasn't a big fan of the Sphere Grid used in Final Fantasy X and this seems to take it to the next level of tediousness.
I give this game a three. Yes, a three. This is where experience comes into play. There are certain qualities I've come to expect from Final Fantasy, and this game really has none of them. I was in 5th grade when the first Final Fantasy was released on the NES and I've been hooked ever since. I've bought every subsequent game as soon as it was released, and have spent many years enjoying these episodes which seemed to be more of an art form than a mere video game. Final Fantasy XII is a sore disappointment to me in so many ways. For anyone who doesn't know, the main development people from Square have gone onto bigger and better things, most notably Hironobu Sakaguchi, the executive producer, and Nobuo Uematsu, the masterful music composer; both of whom have been with the series since its beginning. Their absence hits like a ton of bricks in this latest installment. Many of the elements that have made this series one of the greatest groups of games ever are gone. It just feels different. It simply isn't Final Fantasy.
First off, the story is flat and the character development is non-existent. Up until now, I've been able to describe any Final Fantasy game as ‘a game that plays like a good book'. This is no longer true. One of the hallmarks of the series has always been the fantastic depth of the characters. You could get to know them to the point of being able to predict how they'd react to situations. You could care about them, laugh and cry with them, feel a sense of urgency when one of them was in danger, and it would really draw you into the game. The stories would also be masterful plots, making you want to continue playing just to see what would happen next, hence the book metaphor. The ups, the downs, the twists, everything seemed to work together so perfectly and weave itself into a wonderful story. Historically, Final Fantasy games have had such great characters and plots that nothing ever felt tedious. This game seems to change all that. The plot was so shallow that I had to force myself to play it. I kept hoping that it would eventually get interesting but that turned out to be a futile desire. It is also impossible to get emotionally involved with the characters in this game as they are two-dimensional at best. They have little development and seem to fall squarely (no pun intended) into the stereotypes found in any dime-a-dozen RPG. Instead of the game drawing me in, it bored me greatly and I couldn't have cared less what happened to any of the characters in it.
The music is also greatly lacking. By itself, it's quite good, but like the plot it isn't worthy of the Final Fantasy name. Mr. Uematsu has always given the games beautiful music. They matched so perfectly with the plots that even if you weren't even looking at the display you could simply hear the music and be able to tell the emotion he was trying to portray. His songs are available on countless albums and even as sheet music because they're amazing compositions in their own right without having to be within the context of a game. The current developers obviously knew this because the game opens with the theme that he wrote for the very first Final Fantasy, and the data selection screen plays another song that he composed for the first game which has been in many of the later ones. Hearing two classic Final Fantasy songs before the gameplay even begins seems to indicate to me that the current incarnation of Square was trying very hard to sell players on the fact that this was indeed a Final Fantasy game. I have to admit, hearing those songs gave me hope for the game but that hope was dashed within minutes of actually playing it. I'm sure I speak for all the old Final Fantasy fans when I say “We miss you, Uematsu-san”. We truly do.
The battle system is another thorn in the side of this game. As I said earlier, it reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. This is fine for Kingdom Hearts, but Final Fantasy is a different game! I don't want my party members acting almost as if they're NPC's and following vague default commands. I want menus in my Final Fantasy! Make the battles real-time if you want but I still want direct control over everything. It has always given the franchise a strategic feeling that is definitely lacking in this game. I tend to feel like a spectator during the battles rather than the person who has ultimate control over the outcome. Even some of the longer boss battles will leave you with a feeling of “What just happened?” rather than a sense of accomplishment. I also don't care for the everyone-can-do-everything talent system. I really miss the older incarnations of the game where you had certain characters with certain abilities. It seemed to take a lot more strategy when you had one healer, one fighter, one black magic user, etc.. but now it doesn't really matter if my primary healer dies, my main fighter can cast healing magic. What's the point of having different characters if they can all have the same sets of abilities? One thing that has always been common among RPG's be they video games or pen-and-paper games is that different characters come with different abilities, and therefore different strengths and weaknesses. The current incarnation of Square has effectively removed this strategy from Final Fantasy XII. They've also gotten rid of the old random battle system, instead giving us the ability to see and run from enemies without having to engage them in battle. I'm sure that some players will prefer this but I believe it makes the game too easy. Getting from point A to point B seems to have little challenge when I can basically outrun any enemy I encounter along the way.
My main point is, this game should have been called something else. “Adventures of the Generic Scrappy Hero and Friends” or “Disneyless Kingdom Hearts” would have both been fine, but it doesn't deserve to be called Final Fantasy. The plot is shallow and never draws you in, the characters are flat and you never start to care about them, the battle system is too much of a departure from tradition, the orchestrated music rarely seems to fit the mood and has somewhat of a Star Wars vibe to it… the game just disappoints on too many levels. I realize that many of the younger fans of Final Fantasy who probably started playing the series with VII or later and went ga-ga over Kingdom Hearts will probably like it, but those of us from the old school won't.
More so than anything else, this game simply made me sad. Instead of simply adding to an already successful formula the developers decided to simply overhaul everything and recreate the game from scratch. It can be assumed that this move was made to attract younger audiences by making it more similar to games they've recently played but unfortunately many old fans that have played the series since the beginning will likely be put off by the countless changes. The old Final Fantasy games are gone, and the men who made them are no longer at the helm of Square. It seems that the many years we've spent enjoying this franchise are now drawing to a close. Square decided to fix something that already worked and the result is a game that breaks from the years of tradition we've come to know and love.
This game might have been decent enough as a stand alone RPG, but it simply isn't worthy of being called Final Fantasy.

Review Two

"“From this point on I will separate RPGs into those I played before FFXII and those I’ve played after.”"

This is the greatest Final Fantasy of all time. I will now separate the games I play from this point on into two categories: Games I played before Final Fantasy XII and those I've played after. An RPG that I thought was good before Final Fantasy XII might not be considered so now. Every detail in this game is detailed. This just shows you what four years in the making can do. I honestly feel a little sad because I am having doubts if another game can be better than this. How much money would they have to spend and how long would they have to work on a game to make it better than Final Fantasy XII? All those people that wrote reviews about how this game didn't live up to expectations need to get on some type of medication because they are clearly delusional about the reality and history of video games. Many might be young kids whose first system was Playstation one. My first system was Intellivision. Yes, this was before Nintendo and Atari 2600.
When you look at the evolution of video games you also have to look at the evolution of their target audience. The audience for this medium has evolved along with the games. If you are someone that has been there from the beginning you will realize what I'm talking about.
STORY 10/10:
The story moves away from the typical Final Fantasy storyline, one that focuses on a central character's story; or at least a typical storyline as of late. It also moves away from the evil force attempting to destroy the world scenario. This time they move to a story that is closer to that of a Suikoden title than a Final Fantasy. It is a more political storyline with countries and empires in conflict, rather than just characters. The story flows very well. It doesn't push you through too fast or too slow. It allows you to go at the pace you want to go at. As a side mission you get bills to hunt down certain bosses that are not storyline affecting nor give experience points but will raise your rank in the Hunters Guild, they call “Clan”, which will give you certain benefits; item's, gold, etc. Basically it's just plain fun, and gives you something else to focus on as well as the main story.
Personally, one thing I enjoy in a Final Fantasy title is running around, fighting, and leveling up my characters. This title will provide a good opportunity to do that without having to fight a thousand weak enemies to level up. I hate RPGs where you have to reach a certain level to be strong enough to compete at the next part of the game. In FFXII you always have access to two or three other areas where the monsters are a lot stronger than you. So you can continue the path of the story and plot, or if you want to level up you can fight enemies in your territory, or current location, until you are tough enough to venture into those other areas. Once you are there you will level up faster because the enemies are tough and provide more experience but they are harder to kill. The good thing about that is that you need to use skill to kill them, having everyone just attack all the time is boring and monotonous. It is in your benefit to try to venture into these areas because it generally advances the overall story or adds to the depth of the storyline.
GRAPHICS 10/10:
WOW! This game single handedly convinced me to not get a PS3. This is reminiscent of when FFVII came out and it used 100% of the Playstation to point where they were overheating. (I had to play mine upside down) I'm sure some of you remember that. Final Fantasy XII must have come the closest to date to using 100% of the PS2 because I haven't seen anything on this system that even comes close. Why buy a PS3 and go through that first generation of sub-par games when games like this are possible for the PS2? I doubt, however, that there will be any more of this caliber. It goes to show that this system has much more potential than developers were willing to shell out the dough to take advantage of. But I digress, back to the graphics. Every brick, every pebble, rock, rock wall, enemy, decaying wall, cobblestone, plant, etc, is detailed. You should definitely spend time exploring every nook and cranny of every dungeon or explorable area. You may walk around a corner that every other player may walk right by and find that, yes, they took the time to detail that as well; put a plant or debris there just for you, the one person to see it. You may turn a corner and find the most beautiful and aesthetic scene. The game is alive with birds that fly overhead, clouds, weather systems, and people going about their daily activities. Nobody just stands there still. An NPC might be sitting on a ledge but their legs may be swinging and hair blowing in the wind, and look at you when you address them. When you think about it, nobody in real life stands perfectly still and neither do the NPCs in Final Fantasy XII. The CGI in the FMVs are spectacular and on the scale of Final Fantasy the movie. But the in-game cut scenes look fabulous as well.
This is without question the best Final Fantasy since FFVII, possibly the best ever. It really doesn't matter whether you rank it one or two because in my opinion that is a win-win situation. Do not think that this game is all hype. Go buy it, play it, and you'll love it. However, if you have any other RPGs you want to play also I'd buy FFXII, put it on the shelf and play the others first because they won't be the same if you play them afterwards.
GAMEPLAY 10/10:
First off, don't listen to the hype about the Gambit system not being very effective. Since there are a ton of reviews on this game but no one really goes into the gambit system I will be the one to explain it to those interested in Final Fantasy XII. The Gambit system is one of the best improvements to the Final Fantasy series. There are hundreds of Gambit situations and hundreds of ways you can have members of the party react to them. For example you can have a gambit for a player to cast Cure on any member of the party whose health falls below 70% (or any percent you choose). And each member can have many gambits, and you can rank them in order of importance. So you can have them cast cure only if there is no threat from enemies. You can have them cast Blizzara on enemies that are vulnerable to ice magic, or you can cast Oil and have a gambit for a member to cast Fira on enemies only when they have oil on them. The possibilities are limitless. So what is the point of gambits? It's just to make the battling easier. Correct me if I'm wrong but in Final Fantasy, the name of the game is fighting and leveling up, and it makes that a whole lot easier and faster. But it also helps in tough levels by keeping your members alive and helping inflict the most damage you can think of. Since the game does not take you into a separate battle screen it can be tough to stay on top of everything going on on-screen as you battle. The Gambit system is there to help. You tell you players what to do in a certain situation and they do it. Do not think it makes the game less interactive though, because you are constantly unlocking or purchasing new gambits you can implement and adjusting your gambits to different strategies is very fun.
Getting around Ivalice is fun as well. You can run to your destination, of course, but running through some of the areas with easy monsters can be annoying and time consuming. They have save crystals where you can save your game and restore your characters. Say good-bye to tents. There are two types of crystals. Blue save crystals allow you to save your game and replenish your characters. Orange save crystals allow you to do both of the former and in addition allow you to teleport of any other orange crystal you have found. Of course, you need a teleport stone to do so, so choose your teleports wisely, but I've found I have enough teleport stones that I really don't worry too much about running out. You usually get them as part of your rewards to the Hunts you complete, because you usually use them while tracking the hunts as well. But you generally get more than you use.
SOUND 10/10:
The voice acting is the best I've seen in a game. Each character has a unique voice and accent to reflect their character and personality. The actors do a great job of capturing the mood. I'm sure they do so with thanks to the writers or translators who did a good job of not setting them up for failure with awkward dialogue. The sound effects are awesome. The surround effects sound great throughout the game, whether it is combat, cut-scene, or FMV (full motion video). Not only do they sound good as surround effects but the effects are deep, rich, and full. It gives you a cinematic and engrossing experience. The music is beautiful. The different background music for different areas will leave you humming it long after you turn the game off. At the sound of the music as you enter an area or dungeon you will get excited about going on. The music for the cut-scenes is very well done and adds to the cinematic experience. You will still find a few classic Final Fantasy songs, perhaps a little touched up and tweaked for the new game.
Many explorable areas have secret passages not on the area map or minimap. There are many, many weapons, armor, magics, and techniques, you can use. There are limitless combinations one can do to form the party they want and you can always go back at any time, if you have the license points available, and change your party around. You may decide that you like so-and-so better with more magic power and a different weapon, and that is okay, that's what it's all about and you should have that freedom to make changes or not to. In addition, you can ride chocobos, but I haven't found this as amusing as other might. My favorite part about this game is the fact amidst all the new technology it still has the FEEL of a Final Fantasy title

Final Fantasy XII Secrets

Zodiac Spear
The most powerful weapon in the game has a trick to it that those who have to open EVERY treasure chest would miss out on. There are 4 places with treasure chests that must NOT be opened in order for the Zodiac Spear to appear: 1) Treasure chest in Lowtown, outside of Old Dalan's place
2) When sneaking into the palace (Before getting the Goddess Tear), there are several chests in the Cellar. Do not open the two chests in the southeast corner.
3) All treasure chests in the Confiscatory (the place where you get your weapons and armor back after being captured)
4) In the Phon Coast, later in the game, there is an island with 16 chests all near each other. The 4th chest that must NOT be opened is among these, so it is best to leave them all alone. They only contain Gil anyway. If you've left all these treasures be, you'll find the Zodiac Spear in the Necrohol of Nabudis. It sports a whopping +150 attack and, like all spears, +8 Evasion.
